Two viewpoints from bug 449691: > For instance, (keeping in mind that e-mail is more prevalent than newsgroups.) > I suspect that most users will much more often correspond with the same person > about multiple topics, rather than multiple persons corresponding about the > same topic. Thus, the subject is more relevant than the sender. and: > I have the opposite impression. I rarely discuss several topics at once with > the same person in different but parallel conversations (except in mailing > lists & newsgroups, but see below); when I get something from my lawyer, or > from my special friend from across the world, the subject she chose is > immaterial, what imports to me is, "Ah! it's from her!"
This bug should be a duplicate of bug 456828. Someone please dupeme. ------------------------ - *what* is being talked about is more important than *who* is talking. - Thunderbird has had the Subject in the first line forever (regression) all this should now be discussed in bug 456828.
I'm not convinced it's a dupe, but if you insist I can resolve bug 456828 as a
...dupe of this one (darn quick-typing and hitting the wrong key).
bug 456828 was wontfixed bug 465138 was fixed Let's close this.
