Build Identifier: version 2.0.0.19 (20090105)

after launching thunderbird, the count of unread news messages is displayed incorrectly. it is only an issue with nntp folders, rss/mail folders are not affected.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
- start thunderbird
- unread count of news folders is displayed incorrectly
- select news folder
- unread count is set to the correct value
Blocks: messagecount
Should be duped to either bug 311774 or bug 79130, depending on whether it's filters (or even just race conditions on posting) or expired messages getting in the way.

Which one?
looks similar to #79130. not sure, if it is a true duplicate, though
The previous bug I triaged on the issue ended up being duped to bug 79130, so I'm more inclined to go that way.
No longer blocks: messagecount
