When I create a filter in a Usenet newsgroup, it's usually because someone has posted lots of trolling messages to that group.  But without a "Run Now" button (in the Tools -> Message Filters window, as already exists for mail filters) it is impossible to apply the new filter to news messages that have already been downloaded.  So the user is stuck reading them, or deleting each one manually.
