(Whiteboard: [target release])

cloned bug 467556 from the beta 1 release

Need What's New page to show what's new in the product and to message changes to the user.

The current beta1 page ( http://trunk.mozillamessaging.com/en-US/thunderbird/3.0b1/whatsnew/ ) can be updated to refer to beta 2 with edits to the "what's changed" message.
Flags: blocking-thunderbird3+
Whiteboard: [target release]
* archive
* activity manager

what else?
* about:rights
* better threading
* jmalloc for windows
Donit we now have about:cache available if the View About extension is installed.

Removal of the Extended Cols in the Thread pane and swap to an extension to recover there use.
Note to the people who say we only do new features instead of fixing bugs: you're wrong. Of the 264 FIXED/target-b2 things, the few other things I'd call features are

* mo' better Growl
* add custom toolbars
* (maybe, did we change anything yet?) Gnomestripe
* not junk moves out of junk folder

and not quite a feature but still of note

* new password manager
* default to sent html+plaintext without asking
* no JS in mail
* tab shortcut keys
(In reply to comment #5)
> * tab shortcut keys

Tabs: accel-1, ..., middle click folder or message, autohide, remember scroll position

Do we want what's new between the betas, or new from ... ?
I think more comments from what's new between the betas. Some of the items that have been mentioned are more release note items than what's new items.

For the page itself, I'd like to add to the What's New list instead of just What's New in Beta 2.
