Before we can create easy interfaces for creating new tabs (bug 458069) we need a blank tab page that will appear when a new tab is opened. Some ideas for content in this new tab page are: * Mail ** Recent ** New ** Waiting for Response * Calendar / Events ** New ** Upcoming * Search ** Recent Searches The use cases surrounding the blank tab page are the alternate routes for current systems that open a new tab. For example search opens a new tab by default so we need to provide an alternate route for searching that starts with opening a new tab and ends with searching.

I think this is going to be m3 / m4 time frame. I talked with Dan earlier about getting a sprint setup for lots of iterations of this page. I have that sprint planned for next week in my mind.
