I'd like an easy way to review what I wrote in addition to the newest reply (for emails with the same Subject), instead of having to hunt it down. Key feature: the ability to indicate which "sent" folder gets accessed to create the conversations Implied Request: for this to work with IMAP Sent folders This is my first bugzilla report, please advise if more details are needed. This seems like it'd make a good Add-On. thanks! Reproducible: Always
Reporter, please try latest nightly branch build ftp://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/thunderbird/nightly/latest-comm-1.9.1/ In message header, we now have "other actions" button which includes a command "show in conversation". Does this do what you want?
DontLike-Bugzillas-Unhidden-Email could answer to comment #1, please?
Apologies, I have switched operating systems & email client since 1 year ago. The soonest I could test this on ubuntu 9.10 would in 2 weeks.
(In reply to comment #4) > *** Bug 539545 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** So it doesn't get lost, here is what I wrote in Bug 539545. This request is obviously in need of help from the UX gurus. My scenario *may* be a little different from comment #0, but I'm not sure. --- I archive almost all emails in a way that is like what GMail does. I almost never delete an email in TB. When I search through my Archives folders, I would like to see the entire thread of emails, including emails I sent out. Today, the Archives folders just capture the emails from other people, so part of the thread is missing. I know I can implement some hack (maybe bcc myself and set up a filter to move emails to an Archive folder, but that's a mess, and I would need to update the filter every January 1...) but I'd rather that the software found a way to let me keep everything together inside the Archives folders. ---
This is solved by the conversations addon, per bug 677145
