I file my mail at the end of every month. Of the hundreds of folders I have, I usually only file into four or five different folders. An option to highlight the last N (N configurable by the user) folders that messages have been moved into would help.

The folder pane basically already has this via its (nearly undiscoverable) "modes".  If you click on the left and right arrows at the top-right of the folder pane, you can reach a "Recent" mode that only shows recently accessed folders.  Alternatively, there is a "Favorite" mode if you right-click on the folders and mark them favorites.  You can also directly access the modes via "View... Folders..."

If you really want highlighting of recent folders rather than separate modes, I think that is best dealt with in an extension.

Thank you Andrew, I use the Recent Folders heavily. However, this request is not requesting that _only_ the last N folders be shown, rather that _all_ folders be shown but the last N be highlighted.

I would agree that bug 456444 is a specific case of this bug, for N=1. I am tempted to mark this a dupe, however, I think that it would be better to mark that as a dupe to this bug as this bug is the more general case. What do you think?

I had given this some thought and concluded they stand on their own, because this bug might be fixed in a way that doesn't accomplish bug 456444, and vice versa. but they are closely related ... so setting dependency (weak depend.) and not an abuse of dependency field IMO :)

I've modified bug 456444 to 

current target/most recent move again/copy again folder name should be displayed in UI or decorate target folder in folder pane
