Scroll down on the first message. Switch to the other mail message, and the first one resets itself to the beginning of the message, making it impossible to compare two messages side by side beyond the first page. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Open two messages in separate windows or tabs. 2.Scroll down on the first message. 3.Select the other message. Notice how the first one resets itself to the beginning of the message Actual Results: Message scroll position changes. Expected Results: Message scroll position (and perhaps other state) should be retained independently.
If I open two message windows, this works fine for me on Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X 10.5; en-US; rv:1.9.1.1pre) Gecko/20090707 Lightning/1.0pre Shredder/3.0b3pre. The two messages in separate tabs issue is a duplicate of bug 487386.

Ok, good info. Turns out that the problem with opening in two separate windows is a Theme problem (Silvermel). I'll notify the author.
