Microsoft Exchange supports the standardized IMAP protocol, it just needs to be activated on the server side. This may be a duplicate of bug 128284, but I don't quite understand where Lightning comes in here.
Evolution using Outlook Web Access by connecting via HTTP to exchange server.
I thought it used openchange.
