Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
I have multiple accounts setup in Thunderbird.
For both of my Gmail accounts I have set the preference..
Tools->Account Settings->Server Settings->
When I deleted a message: move it to this folder:
[Gmail]:All Mail
Now delete an email from the inbox and see what happens..
Actual Results:
However, when I delete emails from my inbox, they are actually moved to my local Trash folder for that account. I tried moving them to other GMail based (IMAP) folders, but that only resulted in them moving to [Gmail]:Trash
Expected Results:
I want a Thunderbird delete to result in a Gmail archive, but I could not get it working at all.

First, a comment. You can get the same effect, more efficiently, by simply choosing the "Remove immediately" delete option. The messages are already in "[Gmail]/All Mail", so the copy is unnecessary.
Now, to address the bug:
Did you specify the trash folder name as "[Gmail]:All Mail", as described in your report, or did you use the correct form: "[Gmail]/All Mail"?

I selected "Remove immediately" and it does what I want.
The Mac GUI shows [Gmail] with a triangle to the right of it and a new menu; so neither version is precise. I selected "All Mail" from the drop down list that showed up to the right when I selected the [Gmail] item in the first drop down list.
When I hit delete, the message disappears for All Mail, but appears in:
Trash > (user@domain.com)
