Some of the error messages on the console are:

JavaScript strict warning: chrome://messenger/content/folderPane.js, line 334: reference to undefined property this._treeElement
Error -> TypeError: this._treeElement is undefined

and later:

JavaScript error: chrome://messenger/content/folderPane.js, line 655: this._rowMap[aIndex] is undefined
JavaScript error: chrome://messenger/content/folderPane.js, line 621: this._rowMap[aIndex] is undefined
JavaScript error: chrome://messenger/content/folderPane.js, line 655: this._rowMap[aIndex] is undefined
JavaScript error: chrome://messenger/content/folderPane.js, line 586: this._rowMap[aRow] is undefined
JavaScript error: chrome://messenger/content/folderPane.js, line 601: this._rowMap[aIndex] is undefined
JavaScript error: chrome://messenger/content/folderPane.js, line 648: this._rowMap[aIndex] is undefined
JavaScript error: chrome://messenger/content/folderPane.js, line 594: this._rowMap[aRow] is undefined

(It happened on a self-compiled version, and I couldn't replicate it on beta 4.)

Thanks,
Blake.
Its a bit like the bug that I think mkmelin reported where if you restart with an empty mode, e.g. favourite folders empty, start up TB then the folder pane is broken (even going through modes) until you select a folder.

fixed?
Sure. I haven't seen it since, so I'll call it a dupe of that fixed bug.
