when I delete an email the one after it also is deleted

Rick, I suppose that you are in 2.x because this bug sound like bug #515045... or not?

If you have extensions then wait a week or two. By the way maybe you r issue comes from an extension, does it happens also in safe-mode (see http://kb.mozillazine.org/Safe_mode) ?

the only extensions I have is an import..export extension and a "report crashes to mozilla  ie talkback..  I will wait a week or two

rethinking ... I had a similar issue in v2 at one point but I have not seen this problem in v3. I'm quite sure this doesn't happen in v3, so closing bug, and ask that you reopen if you see the problem when using v3. http://getthunderbird.com/

I installed v3 and still am have the same problem.  It does not happen all the time but occasionally when I delete an email the one after it is also deleted.  I think I am just going to abandon thunderbird.

(another serendipity happening, an unkind one though...)

confirming. I just saw this today ~12:35EST, coincident with a new message was coming in to inbox. 

thread pane sorted ascending by date, threaded
two messages A and B (last)
deleted A via delete key
momentarily saw 3 messages at the bottom - A, B and C (the new one)
A and B got deleted  - and went to trash
C got filtered to a different folder iirc

I may have an imap log of this if I didn't restart, and can remmeber the subject

I have an imap log but it's not sanitized or reduced so not attaching to bug. I will mail it if someone is gracious to want look at it.
