I have my accounts secured with a master password. . I launch TB 3.0 . A modeless dialog opens asking me for the master password. . Main window opens . Another, modal, dialog asking me for the master password opens ... this one is tied to the main window. The first password dialog seems to be associated with other mail and/or calendar accounts, although I'm not 100% sure. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Upgrade from TB 2, with master password set, to TB 3 (not sure if this is related) 2. Launch TB 3 Actual Results: 2nd password dialog is displayed Expected Results: Only one password dialog

(In reply to comment #1) > > *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 338549 *** Issue could also be due to lightning , reported you might to clean up your version strings as explained in https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=533651#c4
This bug should not be closed. I'm using TB 3.1.2. on XP SP-3. When I first open TB, master pwd dialogue appears. I correctly type it, hit OK. My entry clears, cursor returns to the far left edge of the box and I need to re-type my master pwd and hit OK again. This happens 100% of the time and has been happening for months. My only add-ons are CompactHeader and ThunderPlunger. I do not even know what "lightning" is and have never knowingly loaded it or used it.

Peter do you have newsgroups with password configured ? if so your issue is bug 560793
(In reply to comment #6) > Peter do you have newsgroups with password configured ? if so your issue is bug > 560793 Yes Ludovic, news.eternal-september.org requires "authentication" each time I connect to the usenet groups I read at that site. Thanks for the information. Sorry to have placed my comment with the wrong bug. Unfortunately, there are so many of them that a non-techie such as myself gets lost every time I attempt to do research or contribute on bugzilla.
