folder pane should scroll horizontally instead of cutting folder names

The title is pretty self-explanatory. At the moment the left half of my folder pane is just wasted indent space, and the right half is the folder names with half their names cut off and replace by ellipses (...).
I want to be able to use the entire space to read the whole folder name.
