On Socorro, ~30% of the extensions found in crash reports have not been registered in AMO. Socorro makes an AMO API call to grab all of the Addon names associated with the extensions in the crash report. It would be helpful to the engineers using Socorro to have Addon names associated with more of the extensions. Perhaps they could have a form where they could add a GUID and a name for that extension?

AMO is going to be tracking all add-ons with https://wiki.mozilla.org/Features/Add-ons/Add-ons_Default_to_Compatible

The new plan is at https://wiki.mozilla.org/User:Jorge.villalobos/WorkWeek2012Q2/FileRegistration This bug is either a dupe of that wiki page or just not needed, so closing it.
