Build Identifier: 3.0.1
My work server use the same address name for IMAP and POP3 server. It's pop3.***.ca
When i tried to configure my work email account it automatically select a pop3 account. No question ask.
Once the auto detect is done there is no way to change the account to IMAP.
I had to delete the account
Re-start the account setting then rapidly stop the auto-detect account setting. And then manually select IMAP.
I prefer manual account setting.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.account creation with a POP3 and IMAP on the same server name.
2.
3.
Actual Results:
select POP3 server
Expected Results:
Select IMAP or Ask ME

I find it peculiar that there was no way to set IMAP after autoconfig had finished -- can you post exact steps to reproduce (e.g., click this button, type this, etc), please? Normally there is a way to change server types after autoconfig has figured out what it thinks is reasonable.

It is peculiar in deed, and this is one of the reason i did this bug report.
Your request for step procedure surprise me.
Just go to your account setting (i use a french version so it's "paramètre des comptes"). Select any email account you have and try to change the "server type" Imposible. You can change a lot of other parameter like server name, for me, it change anything.
Actualy i like it this way I should'n have to change the server type if the job was done correctly the first time. The program should ask me if the information is OK after autoconfigure and permit manual change before creating the account.
Thanks for your time.

Once autodetect is finished, you can edit the setting before creating the account and change pop to imap and then retest. That would create an imap account.

hello Ludovic
After autodetect I tried Manual creation: It's not working you can't change the server type.
So after Autodetect I have to use Modify in the autodetect "windows"
But if i use the "retest configuration" buton it revert to POP. The create account is gray So the only thing i can do and should do it manual creation after the autodetect modification.
hello Wayne
Your link resume exactly what i just write.
I'm still surprise that in my case the server type by default is POP maybe because of the server name that start with POP3.***.ca
I still feel that you can make the configuration way easier.
But i also ask my mail server admin to create a new name for the imap server.
Thanks all
