Can't have different "view unread" settings between mail & news

in 4.x, each server seemed to remember its own setting as to if it should
display read messages. This let me show read messages in mail (where it's
important to see read email) and hide them in news (where it's important _not_
to see read since there is so much).
This is a big pain, hopefully we'll get it for 6.5.

Actually 4.x had a different setting for each news group. I'd suggest
replicating that behavior. (Might want different settings for high and low
traffic groups).
I agree that this is a major annoyance

yes, I fixed this. now the "view" settings persist on a per folder basis.
see #64000 though to see a case where we don't flush the localstore.rdf, which
makes your settings not get remembered across sessions. fix coming for that one
soon.
