Allow the establishment of a mail address type (MAT) for each contact, the default would be "To:", but both "C.c." and "B.c.c." could be selected. This would allow a contact to be selected from the contacts list, but rather than the default of dbl-click to place them on the address line as a "To:", the (MAT) would define how they are placed on the address list. I have certain contact lists that are used only as "B.c.c.", mainly for anonymity of the list members. Unfortunately, sometimes this contact list gets added as a "To:" meaning everyone gets to see everyone else (plus the arriving email looks ugly). Of course the default MAT could be overridden on the address line of the email if required.

Indeed, this RFE is trying to work around bug 271917. I have some ideas for fixing that bug.
We need to improve the responsiveness and flexibility of adding contacts via contacts sidebar.
This is not the right way of fixing the problem, as it will create new problems and user errors.
