This should be easy enough to add using the Mac Dock support on trunk. See bug 415463. It just requires XUL and JavaScript.
may want to combine this with bug 538376
sorry, please ignore my previous comment. I misread bug 538376 and thought it was for thunderbird and not firefox. I would vote to also add the "Mail and Newsgroups" and "Address Book" options to the context menu on the mac dock. i always have the problem where I have a new message I am composing, i close out my inbox, minimize the new message i am composing, and go to another application. in order to open my inbox back up, i have to first restore the message that is being composed, then re-minimize it, then click on the window menu, and then click on the "Mail and Newsgroups". This is a fairly inefficient process.

It would be good to add a "write new email" as well. New bug filed on that. https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=881321

I don't see this as significantly improving TB's capability on Mac, so removing the meta.
No longer blocks: tb-mac
