User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.9.2.8) Gecko/20100817 Gentoo Firefox/3.6.8 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.9.2.8) Gecko/20100817 Lightning/1.0b2pre Thunderbird/3.1.2 If you archive your messages by time, then you will have subfolders like "Old Mail 2009" with a subfolder named "Inbox". However, starting with 3.x, such folders are not recognized or browseable. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Create folder named Test 2. Create subfolder named "Inbox" 3. Copy or move messages to Test/Inbox 4. restart Thunderbird Actual Results: Folder "Test/Inbox" is no longer visible. Expected Results: Test/Inbox should be visible The files Inbox.mbx and Inbox.msf are present in the Test folder, but thunderbird ignores them. If you rename them to something else by hand, they become visible again. But I have 10 years of emails archived!
Are you using the unified folder view ? so those are local files, not imap folders right ?
Now I feel stupid. Yes, "Inbox" in subfolders disappears only under the "unified folders" view. In "All folders" view, everything is correct. I guess that makes it a feature, not a bug, but it still seems counter intuitive. These are local files.
No, I think it's still a bug - the Test/Inbox folder isn't a real inbox, so it should be seen under the Test folder in the unified folders view. In all folders mode, does Test/Inbox show with the Inbox icon, or a normal folder icon?
Confirmed with Tb 3.1.2. 1. At Unified Folder view, under root level folder of A, B, C of a POP3 account, create folder X (A/X, B/X, C/X). 2. Rename folders X to A/Inbox, B/INBOX, C/inBox. icon is normal folder icon. 3. Collapse and Expand folder A, B, C => A/Inbox disappeared from folder A => B/INBOX, C/inBox was not affected.
