Details

Mozilla should temporarily remove underlining from links, when the Shift key is
held down.

This would be useful for two reasons. The first is to indicate that clicking in a
link when the Shift key is held down will start or extend a selection (bug
50673).

The second is to make a long section of text which has been turned into a link
more legible while the user is reading it.

It's a pity that this is supposed to be a Mac-only enhancement.
I definitely would like to see it on other platforms like Linux, too!
Vishy, as browser manager, this enhancement request probably needs to be
prioritized by you.
Assignee: nisheeth → vishy
If anyone does this, they should make it a pref so that other platforms can
have it even if it's only enabled by default on macos.
Then, go and argue for the reversal of bug 58283.
Reassigning QA Contact for all open and unverified bugs previously under Lorca's

Is this still relevant for OS X? If not, it should be WONTFIX.

This bug is targeted at a Mac classic platform/OS, which is no longer supported
by mozilla.org. Please re-target it to another platform/OS if this bug applies
there as well or resolve this bug.

I will resolve this bug as WONTFIX in four weeks if no action has been taken.
To filter this and similar messages out, please filter for "mac_cla_reorg".

Shift+click on a link nowadays means open it in a new window or tab.

Granted, but also a bit confusing for users who are familiar with the
current Shift+click behavior.

I vote wontfix.
