User @devolute on Twitter says: "Firefox 3.6.9 (win) converting all my tabs in textareas to spaces. Very annoying. Can't find anything on Bugzilla" I know we took some editor changes in 3.6.9. This will track the investigation to see if it is indeed a regression. Additional details: "1st spotted in my #modxcms editing textarea, but i tried elsewhere & it happens everywhere (richtext or not). WinXP SP3" "Only started recently. No weird s/w installed"
Here's a test case. Copy the data from the first textarea and copy them into the second one after "foo". I'm pretty sure that we've taken a fix for this on 1.9.2 after 3.6.9/10. It WFM on trunk, and I'm going to try a branch nightly right now...

OK, this is a dupe of bug 592592, which has landed on 1.9.2. I tested the test case in a Namoroka nightly and it worked correctly. I'm leaving this bug open, however, to add an automated test for this.

Thanks for the quick reaction to Bug 601497. Is this fix going to make it in the Firefox 3.6.* releases?
Yes, see comment 2. It'll ship in 3.6.11.
