The feeling of zippyness is key to creating a fantastic experience. On older machines, even dragging a large thumbnail appears fairly chunky. We should research the reasons for the chunkiness so that we can figure out what steps we want to take to make it feel smoother/faster. We probably want to investigate on both Mac and Windows.

We are currently asking the metrics team to see if we can define what an "average slow machine" looks like.
