User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; de; rv:1.9.2.10) Gecko/20100914 YFF35 Firefox/3.6.10 ( .NET CLR 3.5.30729; .NET4.0E) Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; de; rv:1.9.2.9) Gecko/20100915 Thunderbird/3.1.4 I have a Junk Folder with 2500 Mails and a lot of false positives. I mark all mails as "not junk". I then delete my junk filter training data, hand pick 50 junk mails. I run the junk filter on the folder with the 2450 "possible" junk mails, but all mails are now marked as "not junk" so they won't be considered by the junk filter again. As far as i found out there is no way to turn messages into the 3rd junk state, unknown - you can only tag them junk or not junk manually. I'd want to be able to tag them "maybe junk / new mail / unknown". Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Mark mail as "not junk" 2. run the filter on the mail - "not junk" mails won't be touched usually. Basically I'd love to know how to revert my mail back to "new" so i can run the spam filter over it again.

Are they marked as read/unread ? Anything in Tools -> error console ?
Component: General → Filters
Product: Thunderbird → MailNews Core

I tried to refilter it with read and with unread Status. It seems there is an "Spam" status which can be "ispam" or "isnotspam". The Error Console Displays no message - it just filters the messages and won't find any spam. Which is basically what it should do, because the mails are marked as "isnotspam". I just want to remove those "markers" so i can apply the filter again over those mails.

If this is a local folder, you can remove the Junk.msf file to remove the junk status on all messages, I believe.

I can't understand 'virgin "unknown" junk status' and '(re)set message to virgin "unknown" junk status' in Bug Summary. But it sounds for me that phenomenon is similar one to bug 1242257, because IMAP is used and Unread status mail are involved. To bug opener, do you still see your problerm even after sufficient learning by Junk filter(Bayesian Filter)?
