I'm running step 5 in the virtual folder litmus test case for Miramar 3.3 alpha 1. I created a virtual folder using File | New | Saved Search that tests whether the subject contains MozillaZine.  It lists 2 messages. If I delete it and create a identical one using Edit | Find | Search Messages it returns 78 messages. Thats the same number of messages that Quick Filter returns.

Is all search target folders kept in scope= line of virtualFolders.dat?

(A) If a search target folder(real folder) is deleted or moved or renamed, the search target folder is removed from scope= line of virtualFolders.dat.
(B) If the removed search target folder is last one in scope= line of virtualFolders.dat, the Virtual Folder(saved search folder) is deleted.

Bug 596794 is for phenomenon of (B) on Virtual Folder for local Trash due to "current Empty Trash is delete and re-define of Trash".
Bug 601455 is perhaps phenomenon of (A), but it's not sure because no response from bug opener.
