I would request that as you have birthdays and anniversaries as templates, that the repeat is set to automatically select Yearly. 

Birthdays and anniversaries repeat every year, on the same date, so to have a template that does not repeat automatically and is not selected to all day seems rather silly.

Obviously, birthday parties may vary, but in general people want the dates of their friends and family's birthdays on their calendar. 

So please, autorepeat on a yearly basis, and maybe make it an all day event by default. If people want to change that, they can when they make the event, but by default it should definitely be auto-checked.

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Click New Event
2.Click Category and choose birthday.

Actual Results:  
The reminder does not automatically select Yearly, nor does all day event automatically become checked.

Expected Results:  
I expect if you have categories, that birthdays and anniversaries would have automatically been chosen. Also some distuingishing features on the calendar between the categories but that is another enhancement, such as a green colour for birthday, a blue colour for anniversary. Or at least a choice for a colour scheme for each category/event.

Reminds me e.g. of Bug 274455 and Bug 382589, both duplicate of Bug 361213.

Color can be assigned to categories via Tools > Options > Lightning.
