We were originally aiming for 1/11 but I think Thursday (1/13) might be better for a few reasons. Some downtime needed as there are database updates. This version has a new collector (local disk primary collector). We have run the new collector on one box in production already for testing purposes. Most of the changes in this release are UI changes, sideported from the 1.8 release.

Jabba informs me that we *don't* need a downtime for this.

should probably get announced. There is a pretty major configuration change to the collector side, but that won't need a downtime, as I can pull one collector from the pool at a time and upgrade it, put it back in, then move on to the next. The rest of the socorro system will probably want a small downtime window since there are db schema changes, etc. I suggeset I make this an all-day thing for Thursday. I'll start on the collectors in the morning and then at 4pm do the rest during an announced window.

Laura, I will not be available for the 1/13 push. Tonight's slot at 1/11, 7pm was the only time I was available. Most of the tickets (UI) are mine; up to you whether or not to continue the push without me.

Here's the content for a downtime notice: What: code updates to Socorro. These include: - A new version of the crash collector. This has already been tested in production on one out of six machines. - A number of UI changes - Logging changes to use syslog Risk: Collector changes are medium risk, but as specified, have already been tested in production. Everything else is very low risk. Downtime: no downtime expected

We've decided to not push 1.7.6 to production in San Jose in order to focus on the migration to phx, where 1.7.6 will be deployed from the beginning.
