PLease use attached logo to build the page.

We'll want to know how many people end up spreading the word from this page. Once we're closer to a final page design I'll update this bug with the proper tracking.

Mike, if we can get this ready by the 14th, we will also need the copy and logo to still be Firefox Beta rather than RC since we won't be in RC at that time.
Please let me know if this is doable and if it is, when do you need the design by?

We can potentially reuse code and design elements from the "share a postcard" feature for firefox mobile:
http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/mobile/beta/gomobile/
We should avoid using a custom template and simplify it as much as we can.
That said, I don't think launching on 2/14 is feasible. If designs were done today and we had a web dev resource to start right away it would still be an aggressive timeline. Even if we remove the email component and have it a simple sharing on FB and Twitter app, we will need time for security review.
I'll look into getting a web dev on this and keep me in the loop regarding designs eta. we can regroup when those are ready and discuss schedule and launch date.

I posted to this effect on the design bug (bug 630356), but the timing of this feels really tough to me (and that's only commenting on the design portion, much less the rest of it).

CC'ing Mayumi--
We understand this is going to be tough--ideally we could get a page for RCs (mid/late feb?)

No. Mid/late February is not feasible as per comment #5.

Can we outsource to someone? SilverOrange?

Has anybody looked at the KPI for the previous postcard campaign? We should look at how effective that was before we kick off another one.

Hi Mike--
We looked into it, but I don't think that the numbers we're seeing for that page are a good indicator of how well this campaign is going to do--
That page is for mobile, which inherently has a lower population than desktop currently has. Secondly, that page has not been pushed vigorously particularly because the foxcards campaign was introduced recently. I think we're in a good situation because we at least have a good amount of the code to work with and we're happy to contract this work out to someone or group you recommend.

Talked with Mayumi and Beltzner and did more analysis here--
We think this page would be very valuable for beta desktop. We know that the timing isn't ideal , so we've investigated a different approach that will be a better solution for the circumstances.

Now hold on. It's fair to ask why you think it's valuable and to spend some energy justifying it. I'm not trying to be obstinate or anything like that -- we just want to know if we're getting a good ROI and basing that estimation on something solid.
This project would take approximately 3 weeks including design time, and that based on a whole lot of wild guessing -- we have to be willing to either adjust scope or stretch schedule to get stuff done right.
What's your "different approach"? Can't we talk about it?

So we definitely still think its a valuable page to have, but given all the other projects (Firefox 4 final release, campaigns, etc) this project falls in a lower priority category.
We're exploring other ways to try and get new beta users, one of those routes being to amp up the plans we already had for fb ads and see if that spend can get us what we need.

Is a page without the post card feature prior to Feb 15 then adding the post card thing afterwards feasible? We could also do badges like we did with plugincheck and do it rather quickly:
