"Silverlight plugin for Mozilla crashes almost consistently now when watching Netflix movies > 1.5 hours"
we need to set up some endurance tests to check this out and any other associated bugs of heavy browsing activity on netflix.
bugzilla quicksearch doesn't report anything that looks like specifically filed recently, but there might be other problems to investigate
Bug 623349 - Full-screen Silverlight video (Netflix) broken on new Macbook Pro
Bug 598406 - Silverlight not supported by i386/x86_64 universal binary on Mac OS X 10.6 --Mac users need to update to latest sliverlight. (resolved)
Bug 608650 - Netflix Streaming Browser & Windows GUI Crash at 10% Battery -- needs confirmation.
Bug 561252 - Firefox 3.6.4 Crash [@ nsPluginInstanceOwner::ProcessEvent(nsGUIEvent const&) ] -- crash regression on netflix bug mostly resolved in post 3.6.4 releases.
Bug 560178 - Video tears and crashes with silverlight -- looks like this needs a bit of investigation.

As far as the 1.5 hour twitter crash comment, I have been running Netflix movies in the lab on a Windows Vista machine continuously and have not yet encountered a crash. Am trying on other machines as well.

So far endurance testing in the lab on Windows Vista and Mac 10.6 has not produced any crashes. Yesterday Jono was using some of the other machines so I will continue testing on other machines.

One issue I hit in the lab while testing:
1. Loaded the Firefox Release candidate on a Windows 7 machine using Silverlight Version 4.0.60129.0. Browser Version is our potential Release Candidate: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:2.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/4.0
2. Logged into Netflix.
3. Started Trying to Play a random movie.
4. Got a notification that said there was a problem with Silverlight Application Storage and I had to clear it in order to proceed (used Delete all as recommended).
5. Did that but then nothing happened even after I refreshed the the browser as recommended in the notification.
6. The only way I was able to get the movie to start playing was to restart the browser.

a few interesting comments on input.m.o from a win7 user:
Netflix in one window and browsing in the other really should not cause this many hangs. You need to work on better integrating Silverlight. As things are now it is extremely poor.
The Netflix play window doesn't resize when changing the size of Firefox in the new RC only
several commments from mac users:
Don't know if this is already possible, but can you make it an option to run in 32-bit mode? I keep needing to restart to watch Netflix movies.
we have a bug on that right? should this also go in release notes?
