Not sure when this started, but it can't have been too long ago. A lot of Fennec 4.0 crashes I look at have unlinkified source paths which definitely have been links in the past. https://crash-stats.mozilla.com/report/index/8a8ead92-7631-4991-8f80-6d1d32110323
We screwed ourselves with extra last-minute repos: 8|0|libxul.so|nsContentPermissionRequestProxy::GetUri|hg:hg.mozilla.org/releases/mozilla-2.1:dom/base/nsContentPermissionHelper.cpp:a0181e3f66fe|105|0x2 See bug 572525 for where 2.0 got added.
Summary: Many source links are not being linkified → add releases/mozilla-2.1 to vcsMappings
(Note there's at least one other open bug on vcsMappings additions, bug 623471; might be nice to take care of both whenever this one finally gets addressed. See also bug 631759 comment 5.)
