653612 - [Markup] Create new graphic site promos on Mozilla.com

We want visitors to Mozilla.com to know about, visit, and enjoy the wonders of the MarkUp campaign. Let's let our site visitors know about this campaign through a little cross-promotion. 

Please create the following graphics:
1. Middle module on "what's New" page
2. Small lower promo on "First Run" page
3. New promo on left side of download page

Essentially all that's needed is a markup logo of varying sizes. 

Cc-ing project owner here to provide graphic direction.

Graphics wise, I'd like to stay pretty simple and along the lines of the current markup site--X's, black, orange and white if we can.

small lower promo of firstrun is 40x50 (snippet size), same as the promo on the left side of the download page.

I would say that is the same for the middle module on the What's New page too.

We could probably reuse one in each spot.

I prefer the orange one, too. 

Sean/Tara - It looks like the copy is now done in bug 653611. Can the copy and graphics now be combined into some form of mockups for Webdev? Sorry if my initial description oversimplified the graphics that would be needed to just the logo. Actual mockups of the graphics within the complete promo are needed too.

Hey Laura, Sean can crank this out real quick.

Just to be clear though... if these promos are going to be changed often, do you think it would be enough for us to just provide the graphics and copy separately and have webdev update on their own?  Given the general template of the promos, they should (hopefully) be able to just implement on their own.  Though, that's me speaking without knowing.  Let me know.

Ideally we could get the promo built so we can slip it into Moz.org for promotion on that site too--is that possible?

I'm looking at this: https://wiki.mozilla.org/Mozilla.org/Promo_spots and I want to be able to add it to the home page and mission page and not have to do a separate bug if we don't have to ;)

This is a really good question. I'd love to get to a place where this is possible. Cc-ing Steven G. here to give his thoughts. Steven - does this seem like something you guys would be able to piece together without problems?

Re: LoMo's idea about standardizing across .org/.com - that also would be great. They seem like pretty different sizes but perhaps we can get to the place where only 1 design/copy bug is needed per campaign.

For .com, the final files are attached already. All that is needed for what's new, firstrun, about:home and download page are the snippet gfx + copy - standardized the size so it can be used in all those locations.

hey guys.  Talked to LoFo.  After looking at the promo blocks this is meant to go on... I don't think we need a mockup to get it done.  Should just be a matter of updating the existing promos with the new graphic and copy.  So, will close.  If additional work is needed, we can reopen and address as needed.
