Since someone just made me notice this: why the download button on localized pages is different from the en-US one? The second line (OS, language) is missing on all localized pages.
The new style of download button is without version, OS, and language. I should probably remove those things from the en-US page to be consistent. You can see the same on http://www.mozilla.com for firefox.
(In reply to comment #2) > The new style of download button is without version, OS, and language. Is a new style but is a wrong style. What about people who don't know if the offered version is compatible with their OS version or MSR? > I should probably remove those things from the en-US page to be consistent. You should probably add back those things to the other locale instead. ;-) > You can see the same on http://www.mozilla.com for firefox. Nope, for Firefox 5 we still see browser version and OS. ;-) Please Mozilla, at least once, listen to the Community's opinions instead of acting like a stubborn mom. ;-D
> Nope, for Firefox 5 we still see browser version and OS. ;-) On en-US, there aren't any. Mozilla Europe hasn't updated to this style yet. Not sure whether they will or not. It's something of an experiment. > Please Mozilla, at least once, listen to the Community's opinions instead of > acting like a stubborn mom. ;-D I'll talk to our designers and consider changing it, but one person isn't 'the community' and comments like these aren't terribly productive or useful :)
sorry, but on en-US you have the platform and language indicated: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/new/ Mozilla Europe uses exactly the same display for the download box: http://europe.mozilla.org/en/
(In reply to comment #4) True, one person isn't the Community, but one person may represent many other people and so be the Community. ;-) Anyway many thank Andrei for having taken in account our suggestion. Know what Andrei, you're right once more, but lately Mozilla didn't take us, the Community, enough in consideration and so, sometime, somebody (like us) may write some looking-like-not-useful-comment just because feel tired of this situation. ;-D Anyway Andrei, think that if we're here filling a bug and writing our opinions it is because we care about Mozilla and we do not want it does unnecessary mistakes. ;-)
I take all comments seriously. The reason the download buttons are the way they are is because of the way some of the code outputs HTML and the CSS I had on hand. This was easiest and nobody objected during development. The new TB site was built on an extremely short schedule. I have time to look at this in more detail now that we're launched, so I will.
Again Andrei: many many thanks! :)
