Per email thread, we will need a staging server for our internal phonebook application.

Created https://mana.mozilla.org/wiki/display/websites/IntranetPhonebook and added some details under 'Other requirements'.

In the past, changes were landed directly into production. IT wants to land Bug#687624 on a staging server first.

Notes:
If we can secure this site behind VPN or LDAP, that would be ideal.
We should probably put santized or fake data into LDAP.
App itself has no registration path, so IT will need to provide accounts for dev and QA.

We are going to need a test ldap environment for this...

jabba, would it make sense to use the same dev/stage ldap nodes that mozillians is using?
no
Assignee: server-ops → jdow
Component: Server Operations → Server Operations: Web Operations
/manage should also be living in the staging area, so that we can test changes to it (and also security-review it)
This is finally done.

phonebook-dev.allizom.org
ldap-dev.allizom.org

phonebook.allizom.org
ldap.allizom.org

are all up and configured identical to prod.

They use ldapmaster1.dev.db.phx1.mozilla.com and ldapmaster1.stage.db.phx1.mozilla.com as their LDAP servers, both of which refresh their data from a backup of prod every night at 00:05. The code for -dev updates automatically every 10 minutes. Stage is a manual push.

Currently phonebook dev and stage throws an error about not being able to reach memcached. I have a netops bug open for this, so that error will go away as soon as they open that flow.
