Before we do an r5 deployment, we need to know that DeployStudio works. Current thinking is that yes it will work, but will need upgrades - probably running DS on a Lion system. We have a Mini Server in scl1 already (install.build.scl1.mozilla.com) that can be put to this purpose. John's just agreed to send the three eval r5 minis back to mtv1, attention zandr. Those are https://inventory.mozilla.org/systems/show/4440/ https://inventory.mozilla.org/systems/show/4441/ https://inventory.mozilla.org/systems/show/4442/ One of those is the DOA mini from bug 693339. Not sure which. Please update inventory appropriately when these arrive, and if they're taken to scl1.
We'll need this for the R4 lion testers, too - and that will be needed quite soon.
Summary: Upgrade DeployStudio as necessary to deploy lion to r5 minis → Upgrade DeployStudio as necessary to deploy lion to r4/r5 minis
Take a couple minis from the leftover pool. 1) Install 10.7 on one of them. 2) Try to take a DS image of that machine. 3) Try to deploy that image onto the second mini. If this does not work out of the box, we need to move on upgrading or building a new DS machine that will handle 10.7.

Shoot, we missed this in scl1 today. Now that we have lion-testing3 and talos-r4-lion-ref, we need to test snapshotting and restoring that image with deploystudio.
Please use talos-r4-lion-ref for those tests as I intend to use testing3 first.
I snapshotted talos-r4-lion-ref as talos-r4-lion-20111024.i386.hfs.dmg.
Snapshot was restored to talos-r4-lion-001. John is verifying now. It seems no DS upgrade is required.
