+++ This bug was initially created as a clone of Bug #695604 +++

Goal: Create a landing page for users on mobile devices

Users will arrive at this page in the following ways:

*clicking on a Beta ad (device detection will send the user to this page)
*clicking on "see all our other channels" from http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/m/ --> http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/m/firefox/channel/
*clicking on the "go to mobile" link from http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/mobile/ and other pages in the current desktop experience

Recommendation regarding device detection:

*create a fall-back state for the main site navigation for tablet users, so that they see http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/beta/ and don't send them to the /m site at all

*only send users on mobile phones to the /m site

Wireframes:

Wireframe 1 - this takes the design concept for the desktop page that will live at http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/beta/ and makes it mobile friendly

The blog, email sign-up, and social items are not included and I don't recommend adding them. If they are added, I recommend A/B testing the experience with and without them and placing them in little buckets like the FAQ and Privacy Policy links)

Wireframe 2 - this is a billboard approach, a reduced page using the same design, so you can A/B test what is most effective out the door.

I've made notes in the wireframes where I've adjusted the copy from Matej's suggestions on bug 679286, namely taking words out and adding in two references specific to mobile: mobile UI and tablet and phone.

That said, Matej can you especially drill into the single statement on the billboard wireframe, it's not particularly powerful right now.

I made a few tweaks to the first two statements to help differentiate Beta from Aurora (and bring this page more in line with the desktop version). There are also some options for the billboard wireframe below:

Not sure what you mean by notes on timing. Please let me know.
desired timing and any relevant notes associated with that, not sure what the deadlines are associated with this bug :)

I'm not the product owner, I just did the ux and wireframes, which are both completed. Maybe touch base with Grace?

we were targeting to have the beta pages design by end of next week, friday nov. 4th
please let me know if this is a realistic deadline.

Hmm. sorry guys.  This seems to have slipped through the cracks.  Can someone provide a new deadline here for me?  I"ll see what I can do to push this through asap.

Hoping Ty can help with this.  He was on the cc so I think that was the intention initially... but not sure if he's got the bandwidth.  Stay tuned.

we've slipped from some of our deadlines. 
currently, i am still waiting for aurora pages for mobile.
additionally, we dont have the beta page for desktop yet which this page is dependent on.

given that we still have a few projects in priority before this page, ideally, i would like to to see the design pages by the week of dec. 5th.

hmmm, ok.  Lets be sure to catch up on all bugs when you're back in the office.  Last I pinged you and Ty, things were on track.  So, lets figure that out.  

Meanwhile, assigning to Ty to see if the 5th.  That seems pretty tight to me, but it would help to set a priority level against other bugs on his plate.

ty, matej and i had attended the sync up meeting yesterday. 
i can send out the update from the meeting and new suggested deadlines. 

i try to set the deadlines providing a little bit more lead time but we still have a lot in queue and the quarter is getting shorter. ;) 

the next merge is dec 20th. ideally most of the pages should be up by then.
the goal is we should complete this project by end of quarter.

beta might be going live on the 20th of December, meaning we need to get this page implemented one week before that, meaning we need to get this design soon!

do you think we can get the design for this by the end of the week? I believe we are meeting with alex on this on tuesday 11.29 for any additional request or details.

this looks great. the layout should be fine! but i believe we are using a different approach on the design? 
additionally, are we doing to have v1 and v2 for beta as well?
