Mozilla uses HG for its most important source code, so gathering this data would be significantly more important than getting info from github.
I love it when someone does my work for me. Yes, we should definitely look at this. Thanks for adding the necessary bug depedencies.

If someone is inclined to write this code, it might be more valuable to implement it as a badge on badges.mozilla.org; then, when we incorporate badges into Mozillians.org profiles (bug 680209) in Q2/Q3, this one will be a part of that.

There are already several interesting Github badges (first pull request merged, 25th pull request merged, etc.) that might inspire variations for HG: https://badges.mozilla.org/en-US/badges/
