70321 - Compacting a folder with deleted messages and a subfolder does not properly update mailbox file and mailbox index

Found in build 2001021508 (Mozilla 0.8) running on WinNT 4, SP 6.

If a folder has a subfolder, and has at least one deleted message, when it is
compacted, the message entries are removed from the index file (X.msf), but the
messages are not physically removed from the mailbox file (X).  Additionally,
the subfolder disappears from the folder view in the left pane.  It is not
deleted, but it cannot be accessed again until Mozilla is shut down and restarted.

Side Note:  This is with Mozilla set up for a POP acount if that makes any
difference as opposed to IMAP (not sure if the mailboxes are stored differently
for the two).

To Reproduce:

1.  Create a folder named "Folder".
2.  Create a subfolder of "Folder", call it "Subfolder".
3.  Put at least one mail message into "Folder".
4.  Delete one or more messages from "Folder".
5.  Click on "Folder" in the lefthand frame to highlight it.
6.  Compact "Folder" via File menu->Compact this folder.
7.  Note that the indication that "Folder" has a subfolder has disappeared from
the view.
8.  If you now look at the Folder.msf file, you will see that the messages have
been removed from the index, but if you look in the Folder file, the messages
have not been removed from there.
9.  Click on "Folder" again to select it, and the index is rebuilt, and all
deleted messages reappear.

There seems to be a few compact folder bugs lately.  Reporter - you may want to 
do a query on new, reopened, assigned bugs in the mailnews product with 
"compact" (less quotes) in the description field.  You'll get 30 or so matches. 
Just glance at the summary for them to see if any match what you're seeing.
