When you right click at some link, there is option "open in new window". But, some link are auto open in new window, and sometimes I want to open those links in the same window.
I agree; this would be a very nice thing to have on some sites.
reassigning to a sane component. note that in the general case all we can do is not load the things at all, since figuring out _what_ is being loaded in a new window is kinda hard...

i keep thinking this rfe has already been filed. couldn't find one after several queries --but perhaps it was just mentioned in passing in another related, but different bug.

When you press CTRL while you're clicking on a link it always opens in new window. Than what about that: when you pres CTRL+SHIFT while you're clicking on a link it will always open in the same window. think about it.
I was hoping that ctrl+shift+click on a link would be "open link behind current window" (bug 56690). See also bug 56296, "[RFE] Pref to disable target=_blank".
What about alt+shift+click than? I'm sure this option will be very useful.

I agree with Ben, this is add-on material, if anyone can even overcome the legitimate obstacle presented by Boris in comment 2.
