Steps to reproduce:

This crash report is invalid.  I ran as root 'mount -o remount /tmp' on my system.  Although Thunderbird was the most affected, this remounting also affected several other apps / services.  Rebooting the system complete corrected the problem, both within Thunderbird and elsewhere.  Perhaps Thunderbird should not have crashed but rather detected the problem, but what I did was a rather "bad" and unusual thing and as such probably shouldn't be worried about.  Thanks.
