The current doc says that after installing a web app we should notify the user about it and tell where the installation happened. This will need some UX clarification and will require OS-specific behavior. For instance, should we launch the app post install? How will we teach the user about the shortcut?

(In reply to Jennifer Arguello :ticachica from comment #1) > Created attachment 622196 [details] > Post Install UX Hmm. I don't think that UX will solve the problem. Telling a user that the app was installed is a start, but you end up in the same problem the marketplace has when it says installed. The likelihood a user would decide to hover over an installed button is probably not that likely (installed is a confirmation of completion, why would I go hover over it?). The confirmation of information needs to be a bit more explicit. An example an explicit mechanism includes what is planned to be done in fennec native: On install of a web app, show a system notification for fennec native (bug 741430 tracks this, UX shown in bug 738546) - this gives a user heavy confirmation that something changed on their device and will drive interest towards seeing what the web app will do - this solves the problem effectively for android Re-think this UX based on what is designed for fennec native, as right now, I don't think the UX attached here solves the problem effectively.
