It's #33 top browser crasher in 14.0b6. 99% of crashes happen on Windows XP. Cafe Plus Filter (http://cafeplusfilter.com/) is Turkish software. This issue predates ff14 (pipeline changes). here's one from ff12 https://crash-stats.mozilla.com/report/index/c288bd07-62d6-4c7a-afe9-e202f2120619 I tried to install "cafe plus", but the turkish language confused me. I think it was asking for an IP of a server (subscription?) but I wasn't able to figure it out.
Depends on: 671468
I think this is a dup of 671468.. The pipeline changes in FF14 have changed the stack a little bit, but the underlying pattern is still the same. not a new issue.
It's #21 top browser crasher in 14.0.1.

Selim - we found your name on Mozillians, and could really use your knowledge of Turkish :). Is there any way that you could help walk Patrick and QA through the steps of getting Cafe Plus up and running so that we can try to reproduce? Thanks!
Sure thing. But I'll need to set up an 32-bit virtual machine first, since this antique software doesn't support 64-bit Windows. I'll be able to do that tomorrow. In the meantime, I think it's asking for the server IP. The software needs to be installed as a server on one machine and as a client in all other machines.

If help is needed, we can try to install the software in here, but we would need some clear steps to install/configure. Attempted to download and install the software from this page: http://cafeplusfilter.com/ but eventually hit an error. Without proper guidelines, we can't really do much here.
With combined signatures, it's #26 top browser crasher in 14.0.1, but there are only 2 crashes in 15.0b1. So the spike is gone like those of bug 530074, bug 763261, bug 763386, bug 763392, bug 763393, bug 763395, and bug 763398.
Given that this is nowhere near a topcrasher in 15 I'm removing tracking.
Seems to have lost steam in 14.0.1 crashes too (now at #37) and is not showing up with any significant volume in 15 and beyond so untracking 14 as well.
Selena's correlation data in bug 797068 shows that cafeplusfilterhook.dll@0x5277 is very correlated to the GPU device ID being 0x944a which is: ATI Radeon HD 4850.
Specifically, over a 3 month period, out of 375 crashes with this signature, 45 had that device ID.
Hm, sorry, must be a red herring --- other GPU device IDs that this crash correlates to are entirely different. For example there are 30 crashes on Geforce GT 120. Lesson learned --- 45 crashes is not enough to correlate a crash to a device ID.
(In reply to Benoit Jacob [:bjacob] from comment #11) > Specifically, over a 3 month period, s/month/day -- sorry for the noise.
all the current crashes for this in the last 28 days are on ff 14 and ff 15
