Today i have the same problem. A Crash on startup (after my internet stopped working yesterday). How can i read my (old) email? Save modus startup also didn't work rename profile en startup, same problem I am duthch
Unfortunately the stack isn't useful for working out what the issue is.
(In reply to Wayne Mery (:wsmwk) from comment #1) > and I believe ~90% of comments are german and spanish Just find it on Geckozone too (French): http://www.geckozone.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=106723&p=698220#p697969
If there's STR for this, we might be able to do something, until then, the stack doesn't really give us enough to go on.
first version 13 crash looks to be june 16 - which is the TB13 release date of record bp-1163f428-6c02-4800-8941-05c532120616 afaict, not a single crash in TB13 alphas or betas - https://crash-stats.mozilla.com/query/query?product=Thunderbird&version=Thunderbird%3A13.0a1&version=Thunderbird%3A13.0a2&version=Thunderbird%3A13.0b4&version=Thunderbird%3A13.0b3&version=Thunderbird%3A13.0b2&version=Thunderbird%3A13.0b1&range_value=8&range_unit=weeks&date=06%2F21%2F2012+13%3A00%3A14&query_search=signature&query_type=exact&query=RtlDeactivateActivationContextUnsafeFast+|+WaitForSingleObjectEx+|+WaitForSingleObject&reason=&build_id=&process_type=any&hang_type=any&do_query=1 most crashes in 0-1 sec. no crashes over 9 sec uptime. most crashes are version 13, on or after june 16, EXCEPT for these types of relatively rare example (still all windows XP): bp-96c68609-15ca-49fc-8026-243a52120607 TB 3.1.20 bp-b77151cf-e60f-4741-a258-d5e0e2120524 TB 12.0.1 2012-05-24 (gthere seems to be a short outbreak of crashes 2012-05-23 -25) bp-3266b5d7-8099-47a8-abb6-0ab822120525 TB 12.0.1 2012-05-25 *bp-8f5bc3bb-f7d7-48d5-bfdf-05e7e2120508 TB 3.1.20 uptime 166 sec 2012-05-08 *worth examining?? example raw dump 0|0|ntdll.dll|RtlDeactivateActivationContextUnsafeFast|||0x8 0|1|kernel32.dll|WaitForSingleObjectEx|||0xd9 0|2|kernel32.dll|WaitForSingleObject|||0x11 1|0|ntdll.dll|KiFastSystemCallRet|||0x0 1|1|ntdll.dll|NtWaitForMultipleObjects|||0xb 1|2|kernel32.dll|CreateFileMappingA|||0x85 1|3|advapi32.dll|WmipEventPump|||0x1a6 1|4|kernel32.dll|BaseThreadStart|||0x36 2|0|ntdll.dll|KiFastSystemCallRet|||0x0 2|1|ntdll.dll|ZwCreateSection|||0xb 2|2|kernel32.dll|MapViewOfFile|||0x31 2|3|ntdll.dll|RtlQueryInformationActivationContext|||0x14e 2|4|ntdll.dll|NtClose|||0xb 2|5|dbghelp.dll|Win32LiveSystemProvider::OpenMapping(unsigned short const *,unsigned long *,unsigned short *,unsigned long, void * *)|||0x227 2|6|dbghelp.dll|GenAllocateModuleObject(_MINIDUMP_STATE *,_INTERNAL_PROCESS *,unsigned short *,unsigned __int64,unsigned long,_INTERNAL_MODULE * *)|||0x1ac ref? bug 597262 bug 762987
Whiteboard: [startupcrash][gs] → [startupcrash][gs][regression: TB13]
Not tracking, according to 16.0.2 this may have gone away completely, or morphed into something else.
Agree about TB16. I doesn't see what it morphed to, if anything. I've posted information in the 4 getsatisfaction topics. FWIW, bienvenu wrote a few months ago: I wonder if https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=762987#c5 is relevant. I still think a new profile would be interesting, and/or removing things like the fast load cache, localstore.rdf, etc, in case they have just the wrong layout that causes some sort of infinite reflow.
