A menu button that just says "Reading List" is confusing; it sounds as if clicking it will open the reading list in the AwesomeScreen. At the very least, we should change the string ("Add to Reading List"?). Another option could be to add a popup dialog to the reader button in the AwesomeBar. When clicked, the user would be able to choose to either "Add to reading list" or "Read now". This gives a single point of access in the UI for these functions, whereas now, we show both an icon and a menu item. It's an extra click for "read now", but I think it's more intuitive.

Ian has ideas to improve the menu item situation in bug 769239. There will also be a way to add a page to reading list directly from reader mode with the new toolbar (see bug 766942).

There's nothing actionable in this bug right now. Bug 766942 added a way to add items to reading list while in reader mode. We can track work on the new menu design in bug 769239. Closing.
