Bug 769886 added a 'Copy Link' action to the context menu for links. The same should be added to the context menu for awesomescreen entries in the Top Sites/Bookmarks/History lists.

We have a "Copy Address" in the context menu for the location bar (when the awesomescreen isn't open). Would we want consistency between these two items?
Also, I'm not sure how much we need a "Copy Link/Address" item in the awesomescreen. I think we need to make sure we're not overloading the context menu with items users won't use, and I'm not sure what they would do with "Copy" that they can't already do with "Share" or "Open in New Tab".

FYI, one use case I had in mind for example was a user that wants to take an existing URL from an awesomescreen entry and slightly edit it (like changing the bug number in a Bugzilla 'show_bug' URL) before loading that page.
Right now one would have to load the page and then edit the URL via the address bar to load the desired URL afterwards.
But there are certainly other use cases that require a copy action, like "getting that link from the browsing history for your next blog post", etc.
The rationale for it is actually the same as for the copy action on any normal link in web content, that we have now. In the end awesomecreen entries are links as well, right? :-)
While I agree with you that overloading the context menu is certainly not desired, I think that a copy action is essential enough to legitimate its implementation.
For the record, right now there are 4 (Top Sites/History) or 5 (Bookmarks) context menu entries in awesomescreen.
