Thunderbird does not remove the drafted email from the draft folder after the draft has been sent. It puts the reply arrow on the draft email, not on the original that is in the Inbox.

Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:14.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/14.0.1
Build ID: 20120713134347

Steps to reproduce:

I am using Mozilla Thunderbird V14 and its IMAP using SSL setting with https://apps.rackspace.com.

Actual results:

Saving a draft email in Thunderbird. It shows up online and in Thunderbird but when you open the saved draft in Thunderbird and send it, Thunderbird does not remove the draft from the draft folder. It puts the reply arrow on the draft email, not on the original that is in the Inbox.

Expected results:

The draft is removed from the draft folder and a replied arrow is placed on the original email.

I still could see problem of bug 530528 in Tb 14.0 on Win by this STR,
> Bug 530528 : Replies are not marked as "Replied" if a modified draft in IMAP Drafts folder is sent
with "open the saved draft" == "Edit of draft mail", with Drafts == IMAP folder.

I couldn't observe phenomenon (a) nor phenomenon (b) in Tb 14.0.0 on MS Win.
I perhaps need to do "Reply to a draft mail in IMAP Drafts folder" instead of "Edit of draft mail in IMAP Drafts folder" in order to see both phenomenon at same time.

Drafts folder == IMAP folder? Or Drafts folder == local mal folder(POP3, Local Folders)?
If Drafts folder is also IMAP folder, can you get IMAP log for your problem?

See bug 402793 comment #28 for getting log.
If you need to open log file to public, remove/replace personal data from log file, and remove irrelevant data such as log lines for mail data from log file, please.

The Draft folder is an IMAP folder. When I was using Godaddy's IMAP, last month, I was having the same problem.

With Godaddy, I set the Drafts folder to be saved in a local folder, off line, and I did not see this issue. It worked just like a POP account when saving the drafts.
Carl, are you still seeing this with TB16?
Or TB17 beta from http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/channel/ ?

Hi,
Just updated to the TB16. Thunderbird is now removing the email from the saved drafts in TH but TB is not putting a reply arrow on the original email in the Inbox that the draft was replaying to.

It's already known bug 530528 which I already pointed in comment #1, isn't it?

Carl, you should see this fixed in current version 30 beta. Do you agree?

Do you use Inbox as "draft folder to save/edit draft mail"?
If "Replied mail" is not held in "folder to save draft mail", AFAIK, such phenomenon can not occur in Thunderbird...
Or you did Reply on "mail held in Drafts folder"?
The draft is saved in the draft folder under the Inbox account. I have not changed any folder defaults.
After a draft is been saved, latter it is sent from the draft folder.

Carl,
Does this only happen on a yahoo account? (i.e. you have non-yahoo accounts you can test?)
