Scrollbars on webpages sometimes don't update. I don't have steps to reproduce, but I see it in my normal browsing, for example on bugzilla pages. Seems to be an invalidation issue as switching tabs updates the scrollbar position. I've been seeing this for a while but I thought it was covered by other bugs, but they are now marked fixed and I'm still seeing this in a 2012-08-31 nightly.
Just saw it with 17.0b1 Linux x86_64.
I haven't seen this on nightly recently, probably because of DLBI.
Happened with 17.0b2 too.
Haven't seen this in a while. Likely DLBI or one of the followups or maybe something else fixed this. If someone else still sees this please reopen. If this still happens on branches we should try to investigate.

I have issues with scrollbars with 17.0b6.
Aleksej, would you be able to see whether this is an issue on other branches, and if it has been fixed on nightly, find the first nightly where this was fixed, please? Is the bug reproducible enough to do that?
Version: Trunk → 17 Branch
Karl, I don’t think there are any StR. The scrollbar just becomes unusable sometimes when looking at a (long?) bug page.

Aleksej, did you reopen this because you see it on nightly?
Because Klaus sees it(?) in Fx 17 (bug 817257).
I'm seeing this also in Firefox 17.0.1 on Linux and can produce this with a Windows version running under Wine. It only happens if I scroll down a bit on some pages and click on the page to set focus on it. Then the scroll thumb no longer works. If I use the scroll buttons to go to the top of the page then the scroll thumb start working again. I can still click the scroll bar or use the mouse wheel. The current Firefox 18 beta doesn't have this issue. STR: Load this page: 1. http://www.lagom.nl/lcd-test/response_time.php 2. Scroll down a bit and click on the page. 3. Try to move the scroll thumb with the mouse. Result: This is not possible anymore. 4. Click the scroll button to go to the top of the page. Now the scroll button works again.
"If I use the scroll buttons to go to the top of the page then the scroll thumb start working again." I cannot confirm this. Once the scroll thumb stops working, the only way to get it working again is to reload the page or to navigate to another page.
I hadn't fully tested this in a new profile, but I did now and it appears to be caused in my case by this line in userContent.css :active img {outline: 1px solid!important} The presence of this line only is sufficient to make the scroll thumb stop working in Firefox 17.0.1.
Although this bug is now resolved in FF18 it still persists in FF 17.0.2. ESR I hope they'll offer an update for this annoying bug for the ESR version as well...

Are you still seeing this?

Flags: needinfo?(tnikkel)

Have not seen this bug since FF 17.0.1.

I don't remember this bug at all, but comment 4 I closed it because I wasn't seeing it. It got reopened for other peoples reports. So I'll redirect to them. Only one of the two accounts is still active so I'm not able to request needinfo of the other account.

I'm gonna mark this resolved for now. But if this is still seen we can re-open.
