User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux i686; rv:12.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/12.0
Build ID: 20120424151931
Steps to reproduce:
MacOS X, using Thunderbird 15.0.1
For an IRC server that requires a username other than Thunderbird to be set, I manually set the .options.username value to the correct username for this server.
Editing other .options (e.g .options.port) do result in changes to the account.
Actual results:
The username "Thunderbird" continued to be sent for the IRC server
Expected results:
The account should send the value of the username set in .options.username for the IRC account

Doh. :( Sorry I ran you around for this one, but it seems that 15.0.1 (comm-release) doesn't yet have that option: http://mxr.mozilla.org/comm-release/source/chat/protocols/irc/irc.js#1039
http://hg.mozilla.org/comm-central/rev/b4ad31c27ac6 landed for Tb 17 (currently on Aurora branch) as part of bug 776901.
Sorry. :(
