Steps to reproduce:

7: Views/Important/Change Included Messages » 
Steps to Perform:

    Click the View menu and choose Messages -> Tags -> Important.
    Click View -> Messages again and choose "Save Search as Virtual Folder"
    Await the Virtual Folder dialog, 



Actual results:

No Virtual Folder dialog was received and no new folder created.


Expected results:

Virtual Folder dialog should have displayed and subsequently a new folder created.

Also on Linux.

Also, going to the Edit Menu -> Find -> Search Messages, and then filling out some search parameters, and clicking the "Save as Search Folder" button also fails. Actual and Expected results same as above.

Possibly unreproducible. After restarting Thunderbird (17a2) "Save as Search Folder" button works. "Save Search as Virtual Folder" remains broken.

Right, this comes up in error console when I select "Save View as a Folder":

Something is wrong - either reinstall or try restarting with addon disabled from the help menu.

Tried this in safe mode (addons disabled) and had same result.

Should I download and install a 17.0a? version?
Any special clean up instructions or jus reinstall on top of previous version?

Currently I am on aurora update channel and version is running at 18.0a2 (2012-10-21)

I Just confirmed that same error occurs on linux & thunderbird 18.0a2.

Could somebody briefly describe to me what is the difference between
- creating a search folder with criteria being tag=important and
- creating a virtual folder from a view of messages tagged important?
Apart from the fact that creating a search folder works for me, but
virtual folder from a view does not.
