From 16.0, the warning when closing other tabs can't be disabled (except with a pref only for advanced users - see bug 772319) while the warning when closing all tabs can be.
The checkbox should have be renamed accordingly, something like "Warn me when closing all tabs".

Summary: "Warn me when closing multiple tabs" no longer do what it pretends to do - rename it → "Warn me when closing multiple tabs" no longer does what it pretends to do - rename it
Rather than renaming the preference, could the functionality please be reverted to do exactly what the preference claims? This is a desired preference by many users, and exists in every other major browser. Why was it changed?

Ditto. It was a mistake to undo this function and extremely sloppy programing that this setting is left hanging as it is. IT WAS COMPLETELY unnecessary and should be reversed.

Ditto! (-:
Checkboxes are there because everyone has one preference or another. Choices are good.
Please do not reword the checkbox; implement the feature as currently advertised.
Could we please get some comment on when this issue will be solved? This as the potential to manifest itself on a daily basis.

Unsubscribed. I moved to Chrome so I no longer care about this issue.
Firefox 28.0 sometimes will warn when closing with multiple tabs and sometimes it will not. More frequently, if no other windows have been opened, it works. However, when many windows have been opened, it frequently fails to warn. This is more of an annoyance and does not impact the functionality as far as I know. There is another issue to be submitted with it's own description - windows switch.
OS W7 Pro, 64bit.

Warning appears when using the window manager X, but not File > Exit/Quit.
