Wireframes uploaded on 11/21
We need to consider the 2 variations I have mocked up in the wireframes. There are positives and negatives for each.
Variation 1 (for the desktop user) immediately shows steps to download screenshots. Yes, it is a good idea to show the user these steps to set up expectation for the download process. However, it makes the interaction for the download button a bit awkward. The download button needs to respond to the user. If this is the variation we choose, my suggestion is: when the user selects the download button, the page automatically jumps/scrolls down to the "How to install..." text.
Variation 2 (for the desktop user) shows steps to download upon clicking the download button (like we did for the Apps Marketplace page). This variation allows secondary content, such as the newsletter, news items, and social links to be seen sooner since more page real estate is available. For desktop users who know they are on a page to download an app only available for mobile, this secondary content is valuable. This also allows the download button to have a more natural interaction when clicked.
Sam and I spoke yesterday and favored showing the user the instructions immediately as in Variation 1. As I mocked this up, because of the interaction with the download button, I was going back and forth a bit more on this decision. Of course I would like to test these 2 options, but that is out of scope for this project.
Any further thoughts before moving forward?

Once we know which developer will be working on this, let's schedule a meeting with the dev, visual designer, and I so that we all are on the same page before moving forward with the updates.

I just received "Your final Firefox Aurora newsletter".
If this is the case, the newsletter signup will need to be omitted from the footer.

Hey Holly - we filed the below bug yesterday after the last newsletter went out:
[Bug 815828] Remove Aurora newsletter signup form from website

Jessilyn, Thanks!
Sam, what are next steps on this? I will wait to update the wireframes further until there is a discussion with the dev and designer.
Do we know who the dev and designer are on this?

Add new descriptive/warning text to Aurora and Nightly pages:
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=701178
Will update in next round of wireframe revisions.
Hey Holly. Wanted to follow up on your last comment referencing the descriptive/warning text (thanks for updating!). Lawrence emailed me back regarding that bug to flag that the new descriptive text is a legal requirement. From his email:
"To be clear, adding this text is a legal requirement. Please cc Jishnu Menon when a mockup is ready so that he can confirm that the text placement meets the legal requirement."

This project can not move forward until we have a developer and designer assigned to it.
Once we have them, and we discuss the needed changes together, I will update the wireframes to reflect the comments above.
